Absolutely loved this book. It is well written and keeps you in suspense. Don’t want to give too much away but if you like a forbidden love story then read this. The main characters are so lovable and there are some characters that you will detest. Very spicy and an amazing read. Now I’m reading book two. Review to come xx

Book 1: 4.5 stars!

“When I’m done with you, Your Highness, you’re going to be questioning who your true king is.”

I had high expectations for this book, and it didn't disappoint! This is an epic love story with a strong, independent heroine that deals with the same insecurities and problems that we all do, just on a much larger scale. There is treachery, lies, deceit, tragedy, but most of all, this story is one about a timeless love that defies all odds. There were times that I was frustrated with Princess Adeline, but after a particular stressful scene in the book, I finally understood exactly how sheltered she had been her entire life. Just leaving it all behind wasn't as easy as I wanted to believe. That being said, it's hard to believe a woman not immediately dropping everything for the kinky bastard that is Josh Jameson. I loved every side of him: the Hollywood sex God, the demanding lover, and, of course, the smitten soulmate.

Josh is the only thing that matters to me in the crazy world I’ve been born into. The only person I bow to is him.

I have to admit, I was not expecting that cliffy. Thank God, the finale of this duet will be delivered to my Kindle any day now. I'm worried for the future of Adeline and Josh, but I also know they will fight tooth and nail for their love. I will post a more extensive review after the conclusion of their story, but the beginning was just too good to not say anything about it!

“I get to play with you. With this.” His gaze plummets down my body. “And I’m quite possessive of my play things.”

Oh my...

Nothing, nothing prepared me for that!

I thought I was reading a spoiled little princess trying to entertain herself. I thought it was going to be a bit of fun. What I got was a heartbreaking Romeo and Juliet like tragedy on a Brit could write. 😉

The Controversial Princess is a rebellious woman wishing for one thing. Just one...Freedom. Her gilded cage has been suffocating her for years. And one fateful night, her birthday no less, she meets a man. The man.

But this princess is short on fairies for her tale, everything is not as it seems. The more freedom she desires the more claustrophobic her cage.
Except with him...

But as all stories seem to do, this one has a drastic and terrible dilemma. I'm both devastated and distraught by the ending. Fortunately, my despair won't last long because I'm downloading book two as I type this!!!!!

I was really excited to read The Controversial Princess by Jodi Ellen Malpas when I first found out about it. That being said though, I really didn’t read the blurb as I pretty much read anything that has Jodi’s name on it at this point, so suffice it to say I was surprised to find out that this book ended on a cliffhanger. I have to say though that I am glad I went into this one a bit blind, and honestly I cannot wait for the next book.

Adeline is the rebellious princess of England, loved by the public yet infuriating to her family. She has little regard for her family’s strict rules and the life that being a Royal dictates. Her father the King has been demanding that she marry and settle down, but Adeline refuses to tie herself to someone she doesn’t love. When she meets famous American actor Josh Jameson, she is immediately drawn to him though she knows that nothing can ever happen between them. Soon they are unable to fight what is growing between them, but just as they begin dreaming about making their relationship for the future a reality, everything changes.

I will admit that it took me a few chapters to warm up to these characters, especially Adeline. I wasn’t sure that I was going to love them, but that quickly changed. Adeline and Josh had an undeniable connection and attraction, with their chemistry continuing to grow and strengthen the more we got to know them. I felt for each of them and the situation they were in. It was clear that they worked well together and fit one another, but that their circumstances were the only reason that they couldn’t easily be together. I never stopped rooting for them to find a way though, and it was clear that they were meant for one another.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for more. The ending of this book is a cliffhanger, and the ending one I never saw coming. I definitely can’t wait to see what happens next, now that everything has changed. Nothing is as we thought and Adeline and Josh are facing more obstacles than ever. One thing I know for sure though is that these two have to find a way to be together, because they absolutely belong together! Jodi Ellen Malpas has delivered yet another fantastic read, and I will be on pins and needles waiting for the conclusion to this duet!

Adeline is Princess of England and falls for an American actor, what else is there to say? Adeline causes such chaos for the royal family and falling for an American? Not what the king wants for his daughter. Great start for this duet! Ends on a cliffhanger...
