Since Jodi Picoult's books are my guilty pleasure i had to give this one a good rating, but as much as i did like it, i felt there were other books i liked more. Normally in every Picoult book I get caught up in the story. This story kept me reading while switching from the different time lines. Normally i don't favor this in books. It feels too much like Im reading two different books, but in this story i was excited to see how it all related with the same character in the two different worlds. There were times when reading Second Glance, like in some other Picoult books, were i wish the writing were a bit different..But Im no author myself. This is the last Picoult book I had to catch up with, so now Im waiting for something new to come out!! Sssshh!

So different from what Picoult usually writes, and yet "haunting" in a different way. I love Picoult's ghost story as she realistically follows ghost hunters, solves a cold case, and depicts a boy who can't go out in the sun.
This book jumped around quite a bit from character to character, it was distracting to me.
Horrifying and wonderful.
I love romantic ghost stories, but the horrific twist this one took was a Shock! That the awful stuff is based on History makes it That Much Worse. Overall, I loved this book!

Very good book. Slow at beginning cause the author introduces a lot of characters. Hard to identify with any at first. Gets much much better. Great storyline.
My favorite of all of Jodi Picoult's novels. This has a little something for everyone. Romance, mystery, history, ghosts, etc. I've read it twice now and still love it. Definitely her most well researched novel and best overall, in my opinion.
Rating: 4 Stars!!
Review:
First off, Thank you again to my friend Erica for giving me this book back in February!!
Going into this book i expected to love it the way i did Keeping Faith that i read last month BUT this book was slow for me til Chapter 5 so that why i knocked a star off!!
Chapters 5-12 were so fast paced intense keeping me on the edge of my seat with lots of shocking moments that i loved so much!!
If it was fast paced and intense from Chapter 1-12 i would of rated it 5 stars!! I did love the characters tho they all seemed like very fun and easy to get to know!!
Can't wait to read more by Jodi in the future!!

I definitely enjoy her books more when they are not simply formulaic stories revolving around court cases written with multiple narrators. Get this one on audiobook. The gut who reads it adds a lot of enjoyment to the story.
This was an extremely interesting book. I really like books that incorporate history and real events that have happened, and I have never heard about eugenics before really, except for Nazi Germany. I certainly didn't think that it happened anywhere close to where I live. What really kept me reading though was the multiple point of views from so many characters that all ended u being connected somehow. I thought it was soo cool, and when I would feel that one person's story was beginning to be too long, the next paragraph would come and it would be a completely new point of view. I wasn't creeped out that much by all the ghosts in the story, except when they had to do with Lucy, because she made them seem so much creepier than it probably was. The only thing that was confusing was all of the subjects that this book talked made it hard to find the focal point of the story. Actually, I'm still not sure what it is hahaha. I really like Jodi Picoult's writing style and her storytelling, so I have a feeling that I'll be reading a lot more from her.
