Hm. Well. I have very conflicting feelings about this book. It was good. Looking forward to learning more about the world because it can definitely be expanded and I feel as though I was pulled in and out of it too quickly. Good for a debut novella though, looking forward to seeing where Greene can go with this.

Breach of Peace was a Novella I can say I liked and enjoyed. The starting of it all didn't quite engross me as much as I liked, I did think that it was paced quickly enough to keep me going throughout it all. I understand the foundation and setup for most stories should have a right to some degree to the setup all of its aspects so although I was not engrossed from the beginning or even the middle, I do think the last 25% of this novella did make up for the first 75% of it which is wild to say but I stand by it. I personally think that last quarter was strong enough to warrant it all of this. Overall, the novella isn't even 100 pages, so it's a short read anyway. And it's not like the first 75% was bad anyway. It was just okay to decent enough if I'm speaking critically. The characters I don't think I got enough time with to really get connected to them before what went down went down, but they were not bad either, they were at least well-written enough and memorable enough. That being said, and I'll state this again, I do think the execution of what goes down at the end is to be commended nonetheless. I think this is a good start to this series The Lawful Times as he calls it.

Daniel B. Greene's Prose
For his first published entry, I personally am impressed with his prose, I thought mostly everything felt very reader-friendly and quite smooth in regards to basically everything. Although I do feel some of the profanity (especially in the middle even with the narrator cursing as well) may have been just a tad bit overused and took me out of the scenes just a tad, everything else shines brighter than it to the point where it did not ruin my overall enjoyment of his writing style.

Breach of Peace is a Dark and Fantasy novella, written by Daniel B. Greene ( The Disheveled Goblin ). I love watching his youtube videos.

I enjoyed reading this novella. Dark and Gritty. It is a thrilling ride to me.

The story began as a murder investigation, which later turned into a mystery thriller. It ended with a massive cliffhanger. Waiting for the sequel.

Suggestions :
1. Don't expect much from it. Don't expect a complicated story. It is just a novella.
2. It has f words, bloodshed, violence. So read at your own risk.

I'll give this a 3.5 star. This reminded me of a Dresden book, in the sense that its a story about a case that inevitably leads to the discovery of some tidbits of a larger plot. While I found the story intriguing, I do wish there was some more world building and character development. To me it felt more like an extended epilogue rather than a novella. That being said, for Daniels first book, it was pretty good. I will be listening to Rebels Creed over the coming weeks for sure, I'm curious where he is taking the story.

3.5 stars. I was hooked the whole way through, and I love the way it ended; you're left wanting to pick up the next part immediately, which I'll be doing for sure. Obviously, it's not perfect - but a great debut from the Disheveled Goblin.

For such a dark and gorey story, it sure left me filled with warmth at the end. The Disheveled Goblin did that. He wrote a book. He set the foundation for a whole world. Looking forward to how the threads that have been hinted at will be further developed.
