This is only my second Nora Roberts book and I liked this one, A lot! It had a slew of different and diverse characters that build upon each other the more you read. There was a deadly virus with a magical twist involved, which was sort of different and refreshing for a dystopian. My only issue with this book is for 3/4 of the book you are so invested in like 10-15 MAIN characters then for the last part of the book BAM - where did they all go?? I need closure .. I really, really hope book 2 gives me that because I really enjoyed ALL the characters so much... I need to know they are safe :P Overall 4.5 stars! Highly recommend !!

Okay this was my first Nora Roberts and it was an experience.I liked the book and it kept me interested.

what I liked:
-The plot was soooo good and I am more of a characters' lover but here I couldn't.
-The hopeful bits and pieces. I liked those while the world was gloomy.
-The writing style was so easy to get into.

What was strange:
-The book is not full of twists or action as I expected but still it kept me intrigued.

what was bad:
-I am sad to say that I couldn't love the characters. When I start to like someone ,we leave him or her.The narrating style was a factor in that ,too.
-The romance ,I wished it wasn't there at all and this a big thing to say for me because I always love a romance-ish story.

-The last part! where did the characters go ?? We were following a huge group and then only one person. That made me reconsider picking the second book but I think I will check it.

This is my first book by Nora Roberts and I was not disappointed! Fantasy isn't my favorite genre but I will read one every now again, what made me buy this book was how it kind of had the apocalyptical feel to it as well and I love those types of books! My friend also recommended this book to me, and it was on sale at B&N so how could I not buy it!

This book took me on a whirlwind of emotions and definitely surprised me a lot! It has a lot of fantasy in it but it puts it into more real life scenarios and makes it terrifying and thrilling! I loved the different points of views between everyone and how they all linked up... it could make it a little difficult to read for some but I love when authors do that.

I am super excited to read the second in the series, I have already purchased it... it was on sale at B&N too!!

Looking forward to the next book in this series. Interesting take on a dystopian universe

While most of the book was slow and drawn out, I plodded on, realizing this is the 1st in a series, and I should expect a lot of fluff and filler, in order to leave enough material for later installments. By the last 1/4 of the book, though, things picked up considerably, and it had me turning the pages to see what happens. At the end, it left me looking forward to the next volume.

I pretty much hated this book. I have read and liked a lot of Nora's books but this was horrible. The storyline is full of cliches and just all over the place. I don't know why she wanted to go into fantasy. Maybe cause that is where the money is? There are so many amazing fantasy books out there. This was boring and it felt religious towards the end. There couldn't stop rolling my eyes in the last couple of chapters. I have no interest in reading the next one at all.
