3.5⭐️ I liked the book, a lot, but I don’t know if I can give it a four stars. So here is my long review😅

I read this book after I saw the trailer for the movie so I think a big part of the “shock” in the book wasn’t as much of a shock since I already knew that Jenny and Chris were having an affair.

As for the characters, I honestly would have loved a couple chapters from Jonah’s POV, especially as a teen. I wanted more of their “backstory” than just the brief glimpses from Morgan.

I’m not going to pretend to know how I would parent in this situation, but I feel like Clara was old enough for the truth and I agreed with Jonah and how he wasn’t going to lie to his kid like Morgan. She was going to let Clara think she was this awful person even though it was her dad who “stepped out”. I think especially since Elijah was involved, it wouldn’t have been fair to keep it from Clara.

Clara: sometimes I rolled my eyes because of how childish she was being, but it didn’t bother me as much as it usually would because she was going through losing her dad and her aunt that she was uber close with and that would impact even the most stable of adults.

I really liked Miller. His relationship with his Gramps was funny and sweet.

One thing that I probably will be annoyed with forever about this book, is that she didn’t read the letters from Jenny to Chris. I get her reason why she didn’t, but I needed to know when the affair started😅 I wanted more details because I’m nosey af and I would not have been satisfied without all the answers lol maybe I would feel differently if it personally happened to me with my spouse. But yeah, I wanted some of the letters. 😂

Overall, it was a good book and I read it quickly. Can’t wait to watch the movie adaptation.
