One of the best books I’ve read in a while. Very emotional and thought provoking. It is a must read!
I honestly don’t know how I finished this book. This review is likely to have a lot of spoilers.
First off. Why is one of the MMCs named Skeet? SKEET. I cannot fathom why that was chosen as any characters name.
Absolutely everything was wildly over the top. I was HEAVILY bullied by my fellow classmates in middle and high school and more than understand bullying can and does sometimes involve physical violence. That being said, the absolutely WILDLY over the top amount of physical violence that happens towards the FMC from the bully Cassie and her friends is outlandishly over the top.
Her brother doesnt just do something reasonably bad that a town might judge him and his family for, he shoots and kills multiple kids AT SCHOOL. Which the author tries not to divulge right away, and tries keep it mysterious and bread crumb it but uh, to any Millenial or generation after, it’s obvious that’s what is being alluded to.
Does she need to get out all the adrenaline and aggression? Does just spar, screw or exercise to exorcise those feelings? Naw, she rides on a motorcycle for long enough she’d already be in adrenaline drop, and goes to and enters into a fucking illegal fight night. Oh,and of course, she some how miraculously wins, even tho she just had her shit handed to her in a fight an hour earlier. Oh, and what did she wear? Don’t worry, this illegal fight night, that’s located in a barn, had a supply of outfits to wear for the occasion.
Her new school finds out her big secret (because someone there is a school wide assembly held that the principal knew about but didn’t require preview or prior knowledge of any of the presentation contents? That’s not convenient at all) - that her brother was a school shooter. How do they react? Do they whisper behind her back and shun her and judge her family, like you’d expect? Pssshh no, they scream monster at her and she AGAIN gets brutally physically attacked. Cartoonishly described menacing males loom
around saying thing like “You shouldn’t have come here, and you’ll regret the day you did.” And “Get the fuck out of our school and out of this town. Come back here, and we’ll show you what we do to murderous sluts.” And claim she is going to for sure be a murderer too, because Ethan was a twin and twins are exactly alike. I cannot 😂😂
Two cars full of people cat call, sexually harrass, insult and taunt her as she walks down the road, then pin her in a parking lot an attack her. How many sharks have jumped? So many sharks jumping.
Nary a town has such a penchant for physical vengeance and pitchfork clutching at the towns in this book.
This might be picky but don’t mention a specific real university as the one the characters want to go to, especially if you’re going to claim they got accepted with full ride scholarships, unless the characters (as they have been described) would qualify for acceptance , let alone a full ride scholarship. Axel was described as having tanked his GPA, did a stint in juvie and has no extra curriculars mentioned - he’s not getting into UF, and definitely isn’t getting a full ride. It’s not an easy school to get into. Why say a real college name at all? Just make one up, then there is no need to worry about if it’s one that actually is applicable to your characters.
I have to agree with the other reviews that say this is a super disjointed style of reverse-harem/why choose. I think it comes down to how she wrote the MMCs, they were written as super close to each other but also in a way where there was also an odd lack of ease and closeness between them as friends. It often across as three individual, ethnically non-monogamous relationships, not a RH or polycule setup which RH seemed like the authors intention. People (me included) love the found family aspect of RH/WC books and that wasn’t shown here.
And not for nothing but this would have been better as an MFM instead of MFMM because Heath is a spoiled little rich boy with no spine.

Wow...
Friday during a live stream with author Nikki Ash she mentioned how she loved this book written by Siobhan Davis so I said I would read it this weekend. Well I started it Friday night and Saturday morning I got back to it. This story is Wow!!! Blaire and her 3 men are absolutely breathtaking. Such emotion and heartbreak. This book will make you smile, laugh and cry. One of my absolute all time favourites. Thank you Siobhan for sharing such an empowering and incredible story with all of us

4.5 ⭐️’s! I loved this suspenseful, “why choose” romance so much. The subject matter was heavy and dark, but the romances with the guys were swoony and heartwarming. A perfect mixture. Nothing I love more than 3 hot men worshipping 1 woman. It’s truly what all women deserve imo.
The only words running through my mind after I finished this novel at 2AM:
Holy shit. Holy shit. HOLY SHIT.
I seriously value my sleep. In fact, the last time I stayed up this late to finish a book was when I binged The Kennedy Boys (coincidence?! I think not).
Siobhan Davis has such a gift of reaching in, grabbing you by the aorta, and making you feel all the feelings. In Surviving Amber Springs, we meet our Heroine Blaire. She has a major secret and I couldn't wait to figure it out. I kept thinking I knew what happened and then my sweet Siobhan would throw me a twist.
She switches schools in her senior year of high school, where she meets our three Heroes: Skeet, Alec, and Heath. These boys (soon to be men) are best friends, and while they didn't totally set out to be part of a polyamorous relationship, they aren't opposed to it. The first part of the book focuses on Blaire and the beginnings of their relationship. While the romance is a very big part of this story, it honestly felt like Blaire's personal journey was the star.
And that's where part two comes in. We get to see both Blaire and her men grow into mature and caring human beings. No details here, since I think you need to go into this read blind to get the best experience.
Overall I would say Surviving Amber Springs is an intense rollercoaster read full of emotions. Siobhan Davis has earned herself a spot on my list of "automatic buy." Honestly I already want to reread it; it was really that fantastic.

I wasn't expecting for this book to be what it turned out to be.
It was really an amazing book!!! I think the author did an outstanding
job with all the issues involved. There's sensitive subjects that she
wrote not only Blaire having either experienced, or gone through, but also
the other main characters.
Throughout the book you see Amber at first being closed off, and then
starting to open up more even though she's keeping a lot of secrets secure and close
to her heart. But through it all ,even when she thinks that she's alone Axel, Heath, and
Skeet ALWAYS have her back,unconditionally.
Be ready to have tissues handy, because this book will definitely give you the feels.

This book. Put aside the fact that it’s a why choose. This book tells a story I think so many people need to read. Especially living in America where gun violence is such a big issue. I have no words to describe how this book made me feel. Don’t ask questions, Just read it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
I didn’t like the FMC as much as the MMCs, she seemed really immature, however that could be due to trauma so maybe it was the point.
*Audiobook Review*
Blaire and her parents are dealing with the aftermath of her twin brother Ethan's actions and have moved to a new town after being ostracized from their home town. However it isn't long until their secret is uncovered and they are back to being targets. The bullying is brutal and leads Blaire to breaking point under all the pressure.
I really enjoyed Sarah Plunkett's narration and how she portrayed Blaire's journey to finding out the truth about Ethan. There are some very dark moments and it is an intense listen at points. I was rooting for Blaire throughout as this is her story and although it is a why choose, it is more focused on Blaire's healing rather than the romance. This could easily have been an M/F without impacting much however that being said I was devastated for Cam and wished they could have reconnected.
This isn't so much about what Ethan did, but why and it is heart breaking when the truth is finally revealed. It isn't just Blaire who has had to deal with keeping secrets and there some shocking twists in the second half I wasn't expecting.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Makes you think
I enjoyed this. The plot and the things it makes you think about might trigger some so make sure you check your triggers. A very well told story.
