Overall the best of the series, but the "Bye Felicia" reference nearly made me DNF.

This book has made me speechless. The twists and turns, the tear jerking and heart racing moments. It was all just *chef's kiss*. Pierce Brown really has done something special with this series. One of my favorite "conclusions" to a trilogy.

The only minor caveats I have are that his writing is somewhat cheesy at times, and the ending "twist" left a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth just because of Pierce Brown willingly deceiving the reader. Other than that, it was a flawless and epic thrill ride. 5 stars easy.

I enjoyed this series a lot. It kept me company and distracted me from my daily walks but it's very easy to tune in and out of. The fighting scenes are so gripping and im super excited to hear that this series is being made into a TV show or something cos this world is so vast and the storytelling so cinematic, but I think maybe I should have taken breaks in between books or something. There were times where I just couldn't wait for it to end, or where I was annoyed at Darrow for falling into the same traps, or for his self pitying, etc., but overall its a cool world with cool characters and tells the story of rebels conquering their world and overthrowing their systemic racism. It ends just as they accomplished this cos God knows it would be way too hard to [story]tell how they build their new political system, broker everlasting peace, etc. There's more books in the series but im good with the original trilogy and cannot wait for the TV adaptation.
