Mucho de Tessa de una sola vez, mi corazon yace en el suelo roto en mil pedazos (leer esto con voz melodramatica)
Voldemort, I mean Valentine is a pure evil.
William wants a doll. I'm not crying, you're crying. *continues sobbing*

Hur spännande som helst och intressant med en berättelse från cirkelns tid och en händelse. Samtidigt var det sjukt hemskt det som hände men skönt att få fler vinklar. Man förstår mer hur hemskt det egentligen va

2025 Clary!
Rereading everythin Shadowhunters before 2026 release of The Last King Faerie.
2019 My Favorite Things -
Tessa, Magnus, and Jane Austen -
"The life of warlocks was one of immortality, magic, glamour, and excitement through the ages. Sometimes, though, Magnus wanted to stay in and watch television on the sofa like everyone else. He was curled up on the sofa with Tessa, and they were watching a video of Pride and Prejudice. Tessa was complaining at some length about how the book was better. “This is not what Jane Austen would have wanted,” Tessa told him. “If she could see this, I am certain she would be horrified.”
“If Jane Austen could see this,” Magnus said, “I assume she would be screaming, ‘There are tiny demons in this little box! Fetch a clergyman!’ and hitting the television with her parasol.” 😍
Clary and The Great Catsby -
"Clary espied Magnus’s poor cat. The Great Catsby, who was getting on in years, lay prone upon a velvet cushion, his fluffy gray tail spilling over it.The adults all saw that disaster was imminent. They took a step forward, as one, but Clary had already firmly pulled the Great Catsby’s tail, with the regal assured air of a countess reaching for the bellpull to summon her maid. The Great Catsby gave a piteous meow to protest the indignity, turned, and scratched Clary, and Clary began to scream. Jocelyn was on her knees beside Clary the next instant, her red hair like a veil over her child, as if she could somehow screen Clary from all the world. “Is she part banshee?” Magnus asked over the piercing wail. Clary sounded like a police siren. Magnus felt as if he were going to be arrested for the twenty-seventh time. Jocelyn glared at him through her hair, and Magnus lifted his hands in mock surrender. “Oh, pardon me for implying that the bloodlines of Valentine’s child are anything less than pure.” 😼

I wish to god that these stories just were never written. What is the point of them other than making every character we’ve seen in past books look terrible? Magnus goes on and on constantly about fashion and how much he loves fashion, and we get filler paragraphs describing every outfit he wears, and I could care less.
This short story starts in 1989 with Magnus sensing something coming in the air—he is just so knowledgeable that he senses the Shadowhunter Uprising coming or something. Around this time is when the Circle started and needlessly slaughtered Downworlders. Magnus picks a fight with a random homophobe on the sidewalk because CC always has to add a bit of racism or homophobia into anything regarding Magnus for ‘spice’. Eventually, Magnus is summoned to rescue some werewolves who have been cornered by Circle members, and he goes to save the day, which is wild because nobody paid him to do it. Magnus only helps those who pay him to do it, and if they’re not paying them, then he’s probably sleeping with one of their friends. So when did he suddenly gain empathy for these random werewolves he doesn’t know? He wouldn’t go to help Axel when he tried to plead for Marie Antoinette, nor would he go visit Etta when her memory started to fade. Hell, he barely felt bad about his friends being murdered by vampires for helping Marie escape. He doesn’t help anyone if nothing is in it for him or if it’s ‘too painful’ like, shut up, Magnus, think of someone other than yourself. You’re literally hundreds of years old.
Anywho, he goes to help the werewolves and meets all these circle members. It turns out they’re all giant POS, and in the end, they end up murdering an entire family of Shadowhunters and are given zero punishment at all. Did they blame those murders on the werewolves, then? What happened to them? Did they get unjustly punished for a crime they didn’t commit? The Shadowhunters claim they’re all about justice but despise mundanes whom they’re charged with protecting and punish Downworlders needlessly all the damn time. They act like they are so superior at all times, and so few of them are likeable. I would never want to be a Shadowhunter.
Also, the Circle members continue to trust and stay with Valentine after this. Like, were they even bothered about the fact that they killed fellow Shadowhunters? Did they feel any remorse or guilt at all? Because it’s not like we hear about any of it in the TMI books. And then Maryse and Robert, who helped to kill the Whitelaw’s get to take over the Institute they used to run? After killing even MORE Shadowhunters? That’s some straight-up buuuulllshit. Magnus said the Clave didn’t believe him when he told the truth but uh, what about the Mortal Sword? That literally FORCES Shadowhunters to tell the truth. Why did the Clave not use the Mortal Sword on Valentine and the others?
The whole part with Jocelyn showing up at Magnus’ door felt incredibly unnecessary. We didn’t even get to read about the actual Uprising from Magnus’ POV we just get a lil brief overview and then we’ve jumped to 1993 and Clary has aged rapidly to 2 years old and somehow is still small enough for Magnus to not notice her? I call bullshit.
Magnus’ powers make no sense. Sometimes they seem limitless and can do anything. Other times his magic gets depleted super fast until he becomes all but useless. Cassandra has a habit of keeping her lore as inconsistent as possible and it’s infuriating.
My last comment on this short story is…wtf was up with the needless anti-AIDS bullshit from the random homophobe who tried to stab Magnus? What did any of that have to do with this story?
