I loved this and devoured it right up until the very end. It was fast-paced, short chapters, dual POV, and LOTS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL TWISTS! Exactly how I love my books and now Sam is an absolute must read author for me.
I thought at first it might be difficult to relate to a middle-aged FMC with a college-aged kid and marital problems but Sam did an amazing job at making the FMC relatable and likable to anyone regardless.
I’ve already recommended this to all of my friends and to bookstagram and I can’t wait for it to release so I can make everyone read it!

3,5/5 - Un roman addictif, une histoire intrigante qui a eu le mérite de me sortir de ma panne de lecture. Il a cependant pas mal de défauts mais j'ai choisi de ne pas prendre dessus et de me concentrer sur le fait que cette lecture est divertissante et c'est exactement ce que j'en attendais !

When my boss asks why I am so tired at work, I am blaming Samantha Bailey for writing a book that I COULD NOT PUT DOWN. When Eden's husband asks for a divorce and she drunkenly reaches out to her college crush, down the rabbit hole we go, While I do feel that Eden's actions felt a little bit...teenager/first crushish, the story line developed soooo well and I binged the book. There quite a few plot twists, character growth, and plenty of suspense! Thank you NetGalley for providing me with A Friend in the Dark by Samantha M. Bailey. #AFriendintheDark #NetGalley

2.5* - this was overall pretty dumb and just felt juvenile. I was rolling my eyes a lot. It’s only 220 pages though.
