I didn't seek this book out. Instead, I read it on a recommendation from my company's CEO. It's one of those books that contains knowledge so simple and well articulated that it's difficult to imagine a time when you didn't already know it. I would highly recommend this one to anybody.

Good points, but most were already obvious to me. Short, so painless to listen in case there is something to help you do better in your life.

Read this is you're interested in trust—I appreciated the structured exploration, defining, and examination of trust as a concept, especially when it can be so nebulous and mean such different things to different people. The frameworks and behaviours shared are both easy to understand and practical.

I read the abridged version but still got the message. Nothing particularly new here. If you have not approached the value of honest/radical transparency before, this is probably a great start. If you have already, you can probably skip this book.

Excellent premise, well explained. My one criticism is that it’s overly complicated. But then, I can see myself referring back to it in a few years and probably highlighting different points the next time around.

this book references the 7 habits of highly effective people a bunch - i wish i had read that before this book

I read this for work. Some interesting points about establishing trust with people, but for me the reasons the book gave for doing this were in the wrong place. People should be trustworthy to treat people well, not to make money.

Most of the ideas in the latter half of the book were too idealistic. For Comey's ideas to work, everyone in the world would have to 1. function at their best mental health-wise, 2. be aware of the points in this book, and 3. never make a mistake.

Many of Covey’s examples catered to elitist class principles. He completely ignores the fact that people working for him would tell him anything to save their jobs. He also completely ignores the fact that many folks are struggling to survive.

Also, the contents of this book was mostly filler. It could have been a brochure.
