I absolutely loved this, so much so that I can't even put it into words. Tiffany Reisz only gets better with each book she publishes. The Rose is everything I wanted it to be and more. It's this beautiful smorgasbord of fantasy, mythology, and love. Here's hoping for number three!
I'm a huge Greek Mythology lover and I love how Tiffany Reisz was able to tie in different Greek Myths into this story. August as a character was...Hot, Charming, Imperfectly perfect? The pinning, the desire, the spice, all of it was written out and timed so perfectly into the story.
The only part that bothered me, or perhaps took me out of the story, was the world building in the modern world. There was iPhones, pop culture references, but also was described as very victorian like with a lot of victorian language. The two collided to the point where it honestly had me confused about the world building sometimes.
HOWEVER, It's been about a week or two since reading it and I still can't get over the romance and, honestly, August as a character. If you're a lover of Greek Mythology I would definitely recommend this book!

I received an advance copy at ALA Midwinter 2019 of this book.
The Red was the first (and only) Tiffany Reisz book that I've read, and while it was enjoyable, the plot was quick to fade, I knew it involved an art gallery, some sexual shenanigans, and some sort of dream situation. The Rose, however, blows it out of the water. Lia is an engaging and likable lead, and August is quite the dreamy love interest. Reisz's research into Greek mythology puts an interesting twist on the story, and this would be worth it as an intro to erotica for people who think that it's all Christian Grey.

Throughly enjoyable story with lots of mythology and witty banter. Reisz really did her homework with this one! The main characters are delightfully witty and engaging. As alway beautiful descriptions that take you to another world.

Just wanna put it out there that I love everything that Tiffany Reisz' writes. She puts erotica into a whole new level.
Enter the fantastic world of The Rose. Lia is enamoured with all things Greek mythology and what better gift than an ancient relic for her graduation. August is here to show her that there are more powers to be had than she can imagine from the relic. All she has to be is willing to take the journey.
Trust me you really want to take this journey, take a peek at some classic myths and open your eyes to the possibilities. Bring a fan cause you're going to get overheated.

INFINITELY better than the first book like they can’t even compare! I don’t know what happened between the first and second book….but I’m glad it did. Tiffany killed this one.
August was *chef’s kiss*
The Greek mythology was everything. The spice was immaculate. The banter was on point. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
This book captured me from the beginning and held me the entire time.
You can tell a lot of research and dedication went into this book and it shined.
