Definitely erotica, although with a romantic vein. I hadn't read The Red, although I was familiar with the plot thanks to the Chapters app. Those unfamiliar with the story won't be lost, but you will miss why our heroine's parents are so embarrassing with their open sexuality.
I actually rather liked our heroine Lia, although I wasn't that into our hero August aka. The sexytimes vignettes left me cold, partially because I wasn't connected -- I had barely connected with Lia and August, and then Lia-as-Briseis and August-as-Achilles sex just felt a bit tiresome (each sexual encounter was based on a classic Greek myth). However, as the novel progressed, I actually grew invested in Lia getting some kind of happy ever after -- and I'm glad Reisz figured it out.

I am kind of disappointed in this tbh. :( I didn't connect to Lia or August at all. I found Lia to be a little annoying if I'm being honest. The sex in here was top notch as always but it wasn't my favorite thing I have read by this author

Really original and imaginative story with a fantasy/mythological element. It's also nice to read a book that is so sex positive and sex worker positive.

This was really good. I didn't know what to expect, mostly the amount of sex that would be involved, and you know what, I was not disappointed.
