I remember this story from when I was a kid, so I knew it was sad, but I still wasn't prepared. This children's classic is beautifully written and absolutely heart wrenching. The writing style and descriptions of the coast and the beach where Storm Boy lives with his father are breathtaking.

I'm interested in the books that each country determines to be required reading for its children. And it's somehow really reassuring to mention Storm Boy to people a generation above me and hear "I remember studying that in primary school", and then the next week hear the same thing from my students a generation below me

Storm boy, es la historia de un niño, que vive en una remota playa junto a su padre Hideaway, y un vecino llamado Fingerbone, cuyos conocimientos impresionan al pequeño. A la maravilla de crecer en un lugar así, se suma la aparición de tres pequeños pelícanos que cambiarán la vida de este pequeño y de muchos más.

Una historia preciosa, llena de sentimientos y de enseñanzas, que te harán conmover hasta las lágrimas si amas a los animales como yo. Un clásico australiano que no se pueden perder.
