A cute sequel

This was a fun followup to the first. The mystery had me guessing, and Donovan’s protectiveness of Jon was yummy as always. It’s great to see their relationship continue to grow. I look forward to the next one!

Omg I love Jon and Donovan SO MUCH. I love that they have a healthy relationship that they work for. I love Donovan's Teddy Bear personality and the way he goes Grizzly when someone threatens Jon's.

The case itself was wow. I loved the climax and I totally did not expect that. Just, wow.

Reread 11/20: I still love Donovan just as much. He's adorable and so GOOD. Garrett was a fun side character too. The perfect best friend, lol.

I've enjoyed other series by A.J. Sherwood, but Jon's Crazy Head-Boppin' Mystery didn't quite land for me.

I listened to the audiobook version. I can't gauge if the accents were accurate, but they came across as caricatures. I would have preferred the narrator skip the accents, as he'd have done a great job otherwise.

The plot didn't grab me. Jon's Crazy Head-Boppin' Mystery focuses on the mystery/police procedural and the relationship between Jon and Donovan. I've already mentioned that the mystery wasn't engaging, but Jon and Donovan's relationship was also meh.

This series is just and the cover tells us what madness we are in store for this installment. Jon & Don are learning their dynamics as psychic and anchor as well as becoming more comfortable as being a couple. We meet Don's army best friend Garrett Wilson who is a fun ray of sunshine to come help Psy group and Don when someone takes his abilities to far. Great addition can't wait for the next.
