Series Review (Book 1 and 2)
Rating: Book 1: 3 stars, Book 2: 1 star.
Edit: A dark romance, but not the sexy kind. Everyone was just F*cked up, and not in a hot way. More in a seriously disturbing way where you just go and kill innocents for sh*ts and giggles.
I honestly don't know how to rate this series.
The good; it is well written. The characters are complex and well developed. The mystery and situations are interesting. However this book was just not my cup of tea, it crossed some lines that made me uncomfortable, and made it too dark.
The bad; I originally thought this would be more like Mind F*ck, where the main character is a killer but she is doing it for a reason, for revenge. In this book the main characters are not doing this for any particular reason. They are not assassins ridding the world of bad people, they are not even mercenaries that do it because they need the funds and are only killing "fair game", they are not seeking revenge. They honestly are just serial killers that enjoy murdering people, and go after the innocent, just to satisfy their killing/sexual urges. They are psychopaths and mentally deranged in many ways, and they enjoy inflicting pain, suffering, and death.
The ugly; some boundaries were crossed, which made reading this very uncomfortable, because how can you like a character that has no morals, no goodness, no redeeming qualities? I feel like this was a train wreck you just can't look away until you see the really gory parts and then you are just too disgusted to continue looking. Which is unfair to the author, since she wrote it so well to the point of making me feel so uncomfortable and evoking some real visceral feelings of disgust.
I finished the first book in one night, and read 66% of the second one, but the second book got to a point that I just could not continue. I could not stomach what the main characters were doing, like I said some lines were crossed and I did not enjoy it.
This series is definitely a proceed with caution, expect many triggers. I do not recommend it. I honestly don't understand the fixation that we have as a society with portraying serial killers and psychopaths as the "heroes", and why so many shows and books have sprouted up about them recently putting them as the main characters, and not necessarily portraying them in a negative way. So while the books were readable, I just feel like the content was too much, it pushed the envelope too far, and I would be concerned if you did not feel uncomfortable reading the scenes described.

Intriguing
This series by far had been very intriguing. It’s a very grey world we live in and to each their own. We live in a society where we are judged based upon everything we do and so much like the characters in this book we all wear some type of mask. Whether that’s to hide our own insecurities or to hide something much much darker. It’s because of society and the fact we were all raised to judge someone based on what I’m societal terms is viewed as wrong, taboo and different that we wear these masks.
Some yes I find this book and this series to be intriguing and very well written. The characters are all dark. The story even darker and the judgements they face harsh. If you do not like things society deems wrong or gore. Do not read this it is not for the faint of heart.
1000000/10
Can’t wait to see how this continues.

Confused but need more
I can usually see what happens next in a book or movie but this one threw me for a loop. I can always guess the big moment or the twists and turns and the only one I guess was who the Angel Maker is. Everything else I didn’t see coming. I’m so confuzzled but that makes me happy. You actually have me guessing and on the edge of my seat! I can’t wait to read the next book. I need more!!!

Hmmm. This was good, but I’m not a fan of how Killian is coming in to this.
I wasn’t like most people, and I didn’t mean it in the typical I’m-not-like-other-girls way. I was different, broken and shattered, anything but whole. Who better to understand someone like the Angel Maker?
This second book of the series took a little turn. You do need to have read the first to begin this but trust me, you will still be lost. Those in Stella's life begin to see some of her cracks and through the multiple POVs, you will see how much she is truly struggling. The Angel Maker becomes a bigger character and while I did not like him for most of the book, he grows on you.
I feel for poor Stella and her men. I hope she finds her resolution in the third part of her story, but I also know she may not find her HEA and that is a-okay.

Sick n twisted Stella
Stella really shows up in this book. I enjoyed it and look forward to the continuation of Stella and her men.

Passion and suspense what more could I want!
These characters are well built and I truly enjoyed getting to know them better. The story kept me guessing never quite sure what was gonna happen next. This bloody brilliant masterpiece is full of passion and heart pounding suspense. Can’t wait to see where the story goes.

For being short books they're starting to feel a little bit drawn out. But people who really enjoy this genre will enjoy these books. It's just not particularly for me I have to finish the series as I am one of those people. There's too much going on but there's not quite enough going on.
Stella continues her relationship with Edward and Lincoln but does find out who the angel maker is. This wasn't much of a shock as a reader. However, because of the mental health issues that Stella has I'm not quite sure what is real and what isn't. I'm not sure if this is how Candace intended the book to come across.
On to book three

I didn’t think that the story would or could be darker than the previous one but I was wrong. This story just took a sick twist that I didn’t see coming.
