Again, I'm enjoying it but the detectives are getting too much air time. I just don't care about them. I'd rather us be focusing on the ghouls

Finishes off the Gourmet arc and starts up the Aogiri arc, love the fight with Touka and co, her freaking out at being called beautiful while her Kagune is out always gets me. The Rize side story is so good, I love a character that haunts the narrative and the thing with her giving up her name?? I love a mystery. The last chapter with Amon is interesting too and I love Suzuya and his dynamic w Shinohara.

There will be SPOILERS in this review!

This wasn’t that bad. I mean… it’s still pretty much on par with the previous volume. It’s a bit worse in some aspects, but a bit better in others so I guess it evens out.

The highlight of the volume is definitely the fight between Kaneki and Touka against Tsukiyama (the gourmet dude). I find the Gourmet a bit too disturbing for my taste, especially with his weird feeding kink. I mean… he literally wanted to feed on Kaneki while he fed on the girl (Kimi I think). Still, it’s satisfying to see Touka beat the hell out of him after biting Kaneki and it was so nice when Kimi called Touka beautiful. We also get to see Nishio’s past so that was cool.

On the other hand though, we get to see more of the investigator shit and that’s kinda boring. I just hate reading about them so much. They’re so boring and uninteresting. Also there is this blonde person that we’ve barely met and they get on my nerves a lot so I kinda want them to die. Oh, and we get Rize’s backstory which is just kinda meh because I’m not a huge fan of Rize in general.

Overall, this volume is of pretty much the same quality as the previous one. I’m giving it 3 stars for that reason and I seriously hope we can get more out of this story (I want to see Kaneki fighting, dammit).
