I dragged myself through this book. I had heard so many good reviews that I had high hopes, and I must say that I did enjoy the story. However, I found the book long and repetitive, and felt that it took twice as long to tell the story as it should have.

During my King Arthur phase. This book was the bomb!

I think this translation was a bit over my head. I couldn't get caught up in the story due to constantly having to lookup french words that I didn't know. So, I've decided to table it, and try a book that was written in French originally instead.

This was a very difficult book for me to get through. The struggle that these three women live was emotionally draining and, as we all know, there really isn't a "happy ending" attached to it.

Having said that, it is a truly exquisite book and while it is painful, it was also worth the read (although I doubt I'll be able to read it again).

There is so much beauty and raw humanity in this book. Both the language and the way the plot is woven together in such intricate patterns is beguiling, and while it is a labyrinth of betrayals (by their own self as well as by others), the journey (in my opinion) is well worth the thorns.

i really liked what i read so far, but found out that the author abused her children, and haven't been able to pick it back up since

I truly liked this book and the story was an awesome new perspective on Arthurian lore, but it was so long! The length and the seemingly unending theology discussions did me in a bit. Still a great story though!
