Completely bonkers book with laugh out loud dialogue and over the top moments. Interestingly we don't ever get really emotionally attached to the characters, and the series continues to feel more Shakespearean farce than anything else.

Returning to this series after more than a year was difficult. I forgot how many characters and relationships there were to keep track of. I was more interested in the Esme-Sebastian story line than the “main” one of Bea-Stephen.

This book was deliciously scandalous and full of delectable secrets.

I loved that the book followed multiple stories at a time rather than hinting at the peripheral ones and giving all its space to one couple.

The reason I gave it such a low rating:
1. The infantalizing descriptions of the main female character
2. The jumps between characters POVs were quick and unmarked, making it sometimes tricky to locate which character was thinking what, and when
3. The repetitive nature of some of the conversations- everyone had a “reason” they couldn’t be together but their reasoning never evolved, they stayed caught in a loop even as the pages rolled on

Review - Esme was my favourite character, and she was in the last book as well. Nevertheless, I found Stephen Farifax-Lacey particularly interesting in this one, and how much he changed in particular. My favourite book of this series so far - it was quite clever the way that Eloisa James wrapped up two love stories at once. I am looking forward to starting the final book in the series now.

I ended up skipping around in this series, so this is the last one for me. I hate to do that, but there ya go. I enjoyed that these romances weren't quite typical for the genre. Rarely do you have a pregnant woman for the love interest. You also rarely have a non-virgin woman, unless she's a widow. I also enjoyed how there were several romances going on at the same time through this series and they kind of wove in and out of each other. The beginning of this one would have been better to me had I not already read Helene's story, though, of course, the back of the book gives away who the real love interest will be, so I suppose it didn't REALLY spoil me.

My list of "to read" book for James and Quinn is dwindling to a terribly small pile now! Who will I read for light, fluffy romance once I've finished them? I can't seem to find anyone else I like nearly as much.

lady bea is that bitch
