So excited to have this book. A big fan of his Wool series. Hope I won't be disappointed
Just finished Sand. Not as believable as the Solo series. I skimmed through a lot of it. If you really enjoyed the Solo books, don't worry about this one.

Wow. Can Hugh Howey get any cooler? I couldn't put sand down and may have liked it even a pinch more than the Wool Omnibus. But that may just be because it's fresher in my mind.

I ending up enjoying this more that I thought. It's a fast read and focuses on a family in a post-apocalyptic world. It is a dark story with a lot of suffering and loss and very little joy in the few days you spend with them, but I enjoyed reading the family dynamics.

Good but rushed

I enjoyed the plot and most of the characters, but the plot felt too rushed, particularly the ending. Having more time with the characters and the world would have been appreciated.

This was a stellar read, and another hit by Mr. Howey! You can see my full review here!

A great concept presented along with a set of sympathetic characters with plenty of spark. It suffered a bit from long descriptive and action sequences with limited dialogue and character interactions though that was probably a necessary consequence of the setting and structure. The ending also felt rather abrupt, like the action came to a stop right as things were really beginning to pick up. The writing and sense of place were excellent, however, making this still a four star read for me. I will be checking out Howey's other work.

Not as good as Dust, but still some good characters. The concept of diving in sand was at once somewhat magical and claustrophobic.
