i listened to this & felt like for the first 30% or so i was missing something, i kept rewinding it to see if i had missed a vital plot point or descriptor for the setting and i couldn’t get it. the first part of this didn’t hold my attention very well which could be why i was a little lost but also speaks toward the pacing and story in the first little bit that it didn’t hold my attention. i loved the family and i think the premise and setting was incredible but it just fell a little short for me.

I really loved this book, it gripped me throughout and I struggled to put it done in the last third. Vic and Connor especially were really interesting, real-feeling characters, and I was left wanting to know more about them.
