I was unfamiliar with either this collection or the poet himself until I came across this in Serial Reader, despite the fact that Rabindranath Tagore won the Nobel Prize for Literature (and apparently largely for this particular collection).
I'm not surprised to learn that Tagore is a Nobel laureate. I only connected on a personal level with a few of the poems, but they are all just so lyrically beautiful that I couldn't help but enjoy each one. Tagore translated this collection himself, and did a beautiful job in the translation. The more traditional poetic language used can sometimes sound stuffy to the modern ear, but this was lovely, and I read almost every poem out loud to myself.
I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a poetry collection to read.

Cada línea de cada poema está lleno de amor, entrega la sensación de calma y armonía.

LVI
Thus it is that thy joy in me is so full. Thus it is that thou hast come down to me. O thou lord of all heavens, where would be thy love if I were not?
Thou hast taken me as thy partner of all this wealth. In my heart is the endless play of thy delight. In my life thy will is ever taking shape.
And for this, thou who art the King of kings hast decked thyself in beauty to captivate my heart. And for this thy love loses itself in the love of thy lover, and there art thou seen in the perfect union of two.

Bülent Ecevit’in çevirisini yaptığı bu kitabı okumak benim için büyük bir mutluluk oldu.
After what I've read people have been saying about this, I must say I got some really fucking high expectations for this book, as everyone wrote they were so moved by it, so on and so forth.
I had only reached a few verses when I found it so beautiful that I had to quote it on facebook. There were many beautiful ones I loved, and it was all so wonderfully written. And all of them were pretty short and sweet, so I read this in no time! And I will probably read it many times more.
Poems aren't particularly a genre I read too much, but are they talented and famous enough, I usually give them a go. Usually I don't regret it, and this was no exception! I loved this a lot, and I'm sure that everyone who appreciates poems will too! It's not long, so give it a try! I'm sure you will be spellbound by your own emotions.
