This was great!!
I loved both Knox and Memphis’ characters, there was a bit of insta-love but I don’t mind that sometimes.
It was fun that Knox loves to cook, and that he would help Memphis with her baby, Drake.
It was definitely a feel good story and I really enjoyed listening to it!

Very cute story, but this is the second book in the series where people have gone from strangers to married and pregnant in a year, which is a bit much.

I deserve you. Because I want you. And damn it, I earned you. All the shit I went through. The hell you endured. Who fucking cares if it’s messy?

I ate this up 👏🏽 love, love, loved Memphis and Knox. After finding out she was only a mistress and fell pregnant, Memphis packs up her life and heads to Quincy where she meets the Edens. I’ve always loved when a family takes in someone not out of pity but out of love. If anyone deserved a happy ever after it’s Memphis and baby Drake.

“Let me make this clear. You are mine. Drake is mine. For all of your todays and each of your tomorrows. Mine.”

Memphis having a top 5 bad days and her happiest being a normal day home was so heart wrenching. I can’t imagine having a tremulous labor and not having any family to help you out, physically or emotionally. Memphis did it by herself and dealt with the feelings and stressors of a new mom. Knox being there during Drake’s colic was the cherry on top. He fell in love with Drake before he fell in love with Memphis whether he realized it or not.

The nights when I’d fallen in love with a little boy. And the woman of my dreams.

Tropes:
  • Single parent
  • Small-town romance
  • Found family

LOVED this book. Single parent trope. Memphis is a single mom who left her toxic rich family to raise her son in Montana and become a maid at a hotel. The hotel is run by the Eden’s and Knox owns the restaurant portion. She lives in his loft and he quickly is infatuated with her and they have a heartwarming love and connection and he really supports her. The only drama is when he tells her about his ex who pretended his baby was his, and then later when Memphis’s baby drake gets lowkey kidnapped by the daycare worker. But I love this story and even though it’s fast paced it’s perfect

Reread:
okay I read it in 24 hours lol
My old review was def generous but I do really enjoy this book

4.3/5

It has its quirks with the intensely fast pacing and it could’ve gone a little deeper with many aspects, but it’s just such a quick and light read, especially when I want my single parent trope fix. Did its job. Always a good one

Notes on kobo

What a book. This is insane. I need this man. Anyone know where I can put in an order? I'd be extremely grateful. This was such a heartwarming book and so sweet. One of the best books I have ever read with beautiful writing, a beautiful setting, and beautiful characters (not to mention my new book boyfriend). Read this in a few hours and could not put it down. And that epilogue
emotional

An improvement on the first book, but for some reason im just not jelling well with this series of books so probably will discontinue
