The first few chapters are a hard start but once you get through them it's such a great book. As a mom of a toddler I spent way too much time finishing this book in a week. It is definitely a grand epic.

This is an extremely slow build. I listened to the audiobook on Libby by MacMillan Audio and thought it was really good to have different voice actors playing the different roles but sometimes they definitely seemed to get mixed up in who was supposed to talk, and sometimes, they wouldn’t have the character actor talk but the narrator which got a bit confusing.  It’s a slow burn but the final 2ish hours of the audio book are *chefs kiss*.

Lots of differences from this and the two Dune movies, some of which I wish they had used in the movies but oh well.

It’s a complicated story and a complicated path to figure out if you sympathize with Paul or not by the end. Or if you are worried that he might have been pre-destined to do this path no matter what he did or tried to do.
