Exactly the kind of cracking, quick fiction I wanted to start my summer break with. This was suggested to me by my Italian exchange student when I asked for Italian lit recommendations. A textbook coming of age storyline set against a pretty horrific crime, smothered in a hot 1970s summer. Great read.

Absolutely adored this book. The chilling story of a boy who makes a frightening discovery in a hole in the grounds of an abandoned house. But since he's been forbidden to play there by his parents, he has no one he can confide in - or does he?
