This was a really fun read. I loved that it so based on history and ritual and all the traditional things while at the same time testing the boundaries of the chosen today, and also Raven unique attribute. I am dying to read the next one now!

This book is literal magic. I loved the writing style, the characters, the plot and twists- everything. I loved Raven and Kirsi and their relationship, and how the Dark King slowly unfolded before us. Grey and Nym and Nikos were amazing characters as well! I found myself wishing I lived in this world and was also going through the Trials. I really really can’t wait for the next one!!!!

Sometimes you read a book and are so surprised with how much you fall in love. This was my first read for this author and I didn’t know what to expect. The intricate world building and my imagination exploding. Honestly it’s all the small things that pulled me in, from the way she describes textures and smells to the big deep emotional connections that exist within the relational dynamics. I am on the edge of my seat waiting impatiently for book 2.
