3.75 stars I really liked a lot of the characters and the world but I feel like it needed a bit more world building. But over all a solid book and written well

I loved the FMC, the witchy community, and the tension of this book. I’m so glad it’s a finished trilogy!
"Those that love me call me Grey, those that tolerate me call me sir, and those that dislike me rarely find their tongues to call me anything at all" I mean, come on!!! As soon as I read that, I knew I was going to love this book!
This is my first time ever reading any of Miranda's books and holy cow! This book was amazing! I loved all of the characters, especially our charming & swoon worthy Grey. The Dark King, man oh man, he is everything!!! I'll leave it at that.
Our MC Raven, was, in my opinion, very likable because she seemed so relatable. Strong, fierce but also insecure at times. I especially loved how in those moments of insecurity, Raven's best friend, Kirsi reminded her of what a badass she is!
This story moved at such a great pace too! I never once felt lost or confused about what was going on. I just cannot emphasize enough how good this story was & how torturous it'll be to wait for book 2. Great, great story!

This book took me awhile to get into. I normally love a book with a tournament or trial of some sort as a major plot point, but this one felt pretty boring from the start. I really enjoyed the magic system and the way the spells worked. It was definitely unique and a nice touch to the story. I think what really fell flat for me was the characters. There wasn't a lot of character development. Overall it was decent. I enjoyed the author's writing and will most likely continue to see where the story goes.
