I have nothing but love for Alison Arngrim and this amazing book. There have been times over the past two days where she's made me laugh out loud (most unusual for me whilst reading) and other moments which have pricked at my heart.
She carries it all off with the most wonderful sense of humour, and an overiding survival instinct which has stood her in good stead over the years.
Truly inspirational if I'm being honest...it's a bit early on in the year to be saying it but I already have the feeling that this is going to be one of my stand out favourites of 2012, and maybe even one of the precious few to make it onto my annual re-read list. Amazing.”

I loved to hate Nelly, but I loved getting to know Ms. Arngrim. This was a fun read!
I listened to this as an audio book and it was read by Allison herself. It was SO GOOD! Her life story is fascinating and she handles it all with humor and grace. If you grew up watching Little House, and loved it as much as I did, you need to do yourself a favor and listen to this!
I enjoyed learning more about "Nellie Oleson". So nice to read about a celebrity that uses her fame to further worthwhile causes.
I thought this would be a light, fun read. It was not. Very heavy and upsetting contents.
It also caused me some disillusionment about the show which I really didn't want.
On the whole, it was well-written, but not my type of thing.

Hilarious, interesting, wonderfully narrated by the author. This is the most engaging audiobook I’ve ever listened to, which makes sense as the author is a great actress. From her incredibly unique childhood to her experience starring as Nellie Olson in Little House on the Prairie and her work in the days since, Alison is frank, honest, down to Earth, and very very funny.
As someone who grew up watching Little House on the Prairie, I found this book to be a delightful summer read. Part behind-the-scenes of the show, part story of a child star, it's not all light material, but she tells it with a sense of humor.
