Anna has done it again! Her writing style is magnificent. I go through her books with excitement and curiosity. The characters are written so beautifully. Kael is mysterious and I love that. His insight on the world and people around him truly resonated with me. He has such an incredible outlook on things. He sees things through such clarity. I have so many questions though about some of his past. I can’t wait for The Burning!
This was the first book I've read from Anna Todd. The Brightest Stars was a bit of a let down for me though. Although the blurb showed amazing promise and sucked me in right away.
The book was too slow moving for me, while I love slow burning romance, this one just didn't progress enough. I found myself 50% in not really invested in these characters. Like a whole lot of nothing was even happening. I kept waiting for something to happen to pick the story up and it did, on the last few pages, but it was just too late. By the time the book ended I just didn't care anymore.
I'm not sure that I'll seek out the next book. The cliffhanger after such a dull story really didn't leave me reeling, looking for a resolution for this couple. While I could see glimpses of Anna Todd's fantastic writing chops, The Brightest Stars was just too meh.

Ugh I hate books with cliff hangers! Besides that it was a super slow read! I still need to know what happens!
The Falling was a military romance that shares a story about Kael and Karina. Kael was so mysterious and a silent person. He was a man of one word and there's so much more about him that we didn't know. Karina was kind of chaotic and lack of confident.
I couldn't sleep so I picked this book to read! The first chapter was a wild ride. I'm instantly hooked and wanted more. It was a slow burn. Painfully slow for a reader like me. Karina really need to grow a little bit. Her character annoyed me sometimes. In the beginning this story was promising but then nothing happened and quite repetitive. The miscommunication threw me of a little bit.
What we knew was that they reluctantly united because of funeral. Even though there wasn't much of a plot within this story, I am invested to know what will happening next. The cliffhanger really bothers me and I'm dying for more.
Thank you so much @definitelybooks for the gifted copy
