Disappointing and boring. I usually love stories about southern girls who are a bit rebellious, but this was mostly terrible. The main character is not only unlikable, she is overly self pitying. The supporting characters are hardly supporting. I felt like names are just thrown out of no where. There is a part near/at the end where one of her "friends" has her own soliloquy about what is happening after her death. That really didn't make any sense in this book, but that was more interesting than the rest of the book.

There aren't many books that can make a southern girl seem more ridiculous than this one. By the title I thought there would be more trucks, more boys, more classic southern rule breaking.

I can, however, applaud the concept of raising young girls in the old fashioned way and letting them out into a more modern world. I can't help but wonder if the women would have been happier if they had taken the core values of their club to heart.

Never judge a book by the cover. However, I absolutely loved the cover! That was my favorite part of the book.

Sarah, Southern born and raised, vowed to separate herself from her southern heritage and Camellia upbringing, by moving to New York.... However, once a Camellia, always a Camellia.

meh. A narrator/main character that I didn't like at all...jumping/uninteresting plotlines...just meh.

A cute girly book. Short chapters that jump around and follow a southern girl that moves north...from teenager to 35 year old...and all that happens in between. I read this in a day and a half. Good one for the beach :)

I'm so utterly confused by this book. REally. I am. I almost want to beg a friend to read it, just to explain to me what the heck was going on. It followed not logic, and seemed to start story lines, and then just drift away to something else. Odd.

I'd try another one by this author. It was good, but not what I expected. Definitely picked this one up because of the gorgeous cover. :)

Admittedly I picked up the book based on the cover (I like the dress) and the description on the book jacket. I think they both oversold the book. It started well but didn't feel like it actually went anywhere.

Poorly written, not compelling, but the cover is very attractive.

I just finished reading this book. I begged my friend to get it from her library as my library didn't have it. But I am sadly disappointed that it was not worth begging a friend to take it out for me. The subject matter is all over the place. You don't see a structure until the final chapter. You can't figure out what secret she is telling about each character. She begins getting you to the point where you understand the character and then the next sentence will completely confuse you again. This book is the worst book of the year for me. This author will not be allowed another second of my reading time.

My first official DNF.

This book was disjointed, randomly changed POV, and overall did not have a strong voice. This is truly the only book I’ve ever read (or attempted to read in this case) where I left feeling angry because of how much I disliked it.
