Guy waits two decades to take revenge. Goes overboard and has to make up for some of the collateral damage he causes.

Then, even though, "the love of his life" is left poor and alone (as a result of his eager revenge activity) he leaves her alone because at 39 she's too old and marries an 18yr old orphan instead.
