Read this for school, and this translation was actually great. I like the way the audiobook gives a quick summary before each book so I knew what key elements to pay attention to. I might have to reread The Odyssey from the same translator.

This book's legacy speaks for itself. A cornerstone of the classical Greek ethos and one of the greatest stories ever told.

But were the Achaeans well armed?
But did their words have wings?
But was Hera white-armed?
But did Hector have a gleaming helmet?
Were the thousand NAMED MEN godlike?
I think it’s the translation but I enjoyed reading the Wikipedia article more!! Get some new fucking adjectives and descriptors!!! It’s one of the most exciting stories ever told and I dreaded picking it up because listening to it was painful
