I really liked the imagery and aesthetic of this book

What the Five-Year-Old thought: "They got a lot of things from the boy, but -- this is the sad part -- they didn't get to keep them because they had to escape right after it. But I recommend that you read this book for yourself and see all the things I enjoyed about it."

A great story for kids, "The Borrowers" pulls in the reader and introduces them to the reasons their things go missing.

Charming. Wonderful world building. I want to know more about the time when there were multiple Borrowing families living in that house.

52Books2024 Reading Challenge: Published in a Year of the Dragon

This was one of my childhood favorites and the 2012 movie was excellent. Time to read it to the girls!

Having recently watched the film "Arriety" I thought I better reread the book. It's always fun to revisit their world and I do like Arriety and Pod and Homily. It's not a very long book, but we get introduced to The Borrowers and what they are like. [2014]

Love these stories. [2003]

read it in prep for the upcoming
Miyazaki movie. cute, okay plot, hope they ramp up the tension in the movie...
