Louise Kennedy

Stunning book set in the 70s the writing was beautifu, great for sally rooney fans (i can slightly look past the no use of quotatios in this one due to paragraph breaks). I

did not know much about Irish history but I can see how influential The Troubles had on both sides of the political/religious landscape. At times i forgot the setting, as i was drawn to the story of cushla, her relationship with her family, students (in advocacy and protection) and the affair.  Not sure why i didn't expect the ending.

Not sure why I picked this up. I'd read one other by Kennedy and hated it. Must remember to avoid this writer! Stopped 70 pages in.
