I really enjoyed this story. Easy to read and ultimately very sweet. A lovely coming of age story that shows we can overcome even the greatest of struggles and that we are all capable of loving and being loved regardless of our circumstance.
2.5

Now that’s my kind of New Adult book!!!
Relatable and likeable characters and a very cute story with not too much unnecessary drama.
Also lovely friends as secondary characters and caring parents.
Corey was a really tough and cool and Hartley a very funny protagonist (whom I only wanted to strangle for like 5 minutes...but he noticed he was a real jerk himself, so...).
(The only thing I really didn’t like was the repeated use of painkillers + alcohol. Yes, I did that too, but don’t do this guys, it’s not healthy and can be very dangerous!!!)

Absolutely loved this story!!!! It's such a fantastic read that I had to read it again before I started on the other books in the series. These characters are fantastic and so well written! They grab you and bring you along on this emotional journey that warms your heart and gives you a new outlook on life and the blessings that you have.
What a refreshing NA!! It was so good because it was realistic. There was no over the top super quirky best friend and everything seemed really real. I really appreciate that because it seems so rare in NA. Also it was great to have a main character who is disabled. Definitely going to continue with the series.
DNF.
I tried because this was included with my audible subscription but it was way too boring and predictable for me.

I really really enjoyed this book.
I really really did not like the gimp reference. I know that they were joking, and it made them feel less self-conscious. It just however, did not sit right with me.
The characters are strong and mostly likeable. I did have some issues with Hartley - he couldn't seem to be his real self. I get his relationship with the "supermodel girlfriend" but it seems like he didn't even try to be himself. He never put any effort into a relationship with his father. He didn't try to make amends with friends. He just seemed to give up on challenging situations. As for his injury - while it was pretty bad it was not life altering. Yes he missed a hockey season, but from a team he had already proven himself on. Yes he had to use crutches, but apparently only for a few months. A setback. Devastating maybe, but not life altering or even that disruptive to his life.
That's not to say that Corey was perfect either. It just seems to me that she had a lot more to get through. She was a pretty strong and determined character - nothing would hold her back!
