The series is off to a bit of a slow start, but I’m still definitely planning to read book 2.

I dont do romance, but then I found this book and thought "why not?" so I'm happy with the fact that the year we fell down was the first romance book I ever read.
medium-paced

This book gets an automatic 5 stars from me due to the sheer amount of times it made my heart literally ache. Seriously, the number of time it had my throat feeling tight and tears welling in my eyes was insane. And it was all because the characters were amazing. The disability representation from Corey and Hartley was great, but more than that, they both had so much depth and substance. Their friends to lovers romance was absolutely incredible and I loved every second of it. Sarina Bowen’s writing was awesome and I loved that there was absolutely no fluff whatsoever in this book. There was never a huge break between Corey/Hartley interactions and no extraneous details that made me want to skim. Overall, this was so heartfelt and beautiful and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Something completely different and quite refreshing. A NA college romance about Corey Callahan, a handicap former ice hockey player who starts college and has to navigate a whole new world. And across the hall is Adam Hartley, who stupidly broke his leg in two places and is learning the art of using crutches to get around. Their circumstances bring them together as they figure out how to navigate stairs, and getting to venues that are above the first floor.

It must be noted that there is cheating involved, regardless if it was just for "research purposes". Simple writing, with an interesting aspect. How often does one read a romance with a handicapped character and learn the nitty gritty about everything that they go through? Not often, if at all.

And the secondary characters were interesting and piqued my interest enough to read the next book in the series.

i really liked this book and i’ve read it like twice but the thing that annoyed me so much was how they they basically hooked up while Hartley was in a relationship and didn’t even think of that as cheating. like ik stacia was supposed to be the villain of the story or whatever but they still did her dirty by that and didn’t even acknowledge it
