Lubię dziwne historie z dużą ilością metafor i elementami surrealizmu. Jednak tutaj moim zdaniem było tego zwyczajnie za dużo. Jest wiele fragmentów, których po prostu nie zrozumiałam i jak patrzę po recenzjach innych czytelników, to nie jestem jedyna.
Na pewno jest to pozycja o której nigdy nie zapomnę ze względu na swoją ciekawą formę, ale trochę żałuję, że nie jestem w stanie jej bardziej docenić.

This wasn’t a bad book by any means. Was I confused for most of it absolutely but I caught on enough that I could still enjoyed reading it. It was moody and weird and I liked that.

i think the book was building up to something great that never happened. i really enjoyed the read tho. there are many devils in the details when you sit with it which i always admire about a book. i liked what it was trying to do but it lost itself when it was written in a vague, wanting to be deep way while focusing heavily on imagery. and i would've ate it up if it led anywhere.

My first 5 star in what feels like a billion years.

I almost DNF’d just because I wasn’t in the mood for lit Fic, but I am SO glad I stuck with it.

First: I recommend this for peeps who are fans of “The Virgin Suicides” by Jeffrey Eugenides, or “The Girls” by Emma Cline. (2 other 5 stars of mine hehe)

The use of “we” as the main pronoun threw me for a loop, and I wasn’t in the mood to dissect it UNTIL it switched to “I”, and I was tuned tf back in.

Unfortunately I may have to break my book buying ban (again) so I can buy this, reread it, and annotate the heck out of it.

The themes of trauma, the real grit of girlhood and friendship, the halting of maturity that trauma can put you through…yeah this wrecked me.
