I enjoyed my time with this read. It is WEIRD. Do not go into this expecting to understand it all, you’ll just be disappointed. I liked the collective “We” perspective. Just a weird little book about weird little girls

This book was fine, but I am just not in the mood for it. It's also a coming-of-age novel, and as an adult, I feel disconnected from the story.

Plot, where are you in this book?!

Really interesting read that challenges literature fiction but at times drops the ball. Love the hive mind.

I’ve heard this favourably compared to The Virgin Suicides and Bunny and… no. Bunny is fascinating and offbeat, and well-written. Where TVS flows and sings and drags through a graceful solemnity at times, this…plods. Every line is a metaphor, every character a type.

If I had to divine its worst quality: it’s over-written. It’s so heavily stylised as to lose all gravitas and emotion. It’s not an awful book, not by any means, but it feels like it could have been so much better. It feels like it should have been peeled back, tightened up, and pared down. There’s no throughline other than a vague and ephemeral concept of “girlhood” which falls flat in every present day chapter.

If I had to say one thing about it, I’d say: this will do numbers on Tiktok.

bunny x the virgin suicides i liked the vibes but it was too mysterious and confusing to the point that i could not tell you what the plot is
