Hands down the best of the series. Kevin Hearne brings the entire series to a triumphant close. A close worthy of the series. I would even go as far as to say, an ending even better than the series deserved. It was one of the rare times in the iron druid Chronicles where I felt completely satisfied in all that I had endured. I would even say that this book alone is reason enough to attempt the series.

Well done and happy reading

This was a disappointing ending to this series. It felt like the author was trying to atone for politically incorrect mistakes in previous books. Also the final battle was extremely underwhelming. We know the author can write great battle scenes because of previous books, so this was lame.

En excellent, albeit sad and bittersweet ending to a fantastic series. I am sure it didn't go the way some hoped it would, but honestly in hindsight, I could see it going no other way. I assume some of the low ratings are simply due to the fact that it wasn't the Wayne's World super happy ending. Well done, Mr. Hearne! So sad to s a y goodbye to the series. I want more adventures with Owen and his sloth.

Aww, I'm so sad to see this series end! I loved so many of the characters and it's so unique to the urban fantasy genre. But all good things must end. This book was basically one giant battle. The three main characters were split into different places of the world and out fighting their own battles, all of which lead to one of the most bittersweet endings I've ever read in fiction. I'm honestly torn about it. All said, it's a good ending that completes the arcs of everyone involved, but the fangirl in me was hoping for more sappiness. Still, the action was strong and the new characters that were introduced were memorable and fun. The book was much shorter than I expected, but this was a satisfying to a truly exciting series.

Rarely do I bitch and moan about a book being too short, but Scourged IS too short. I hate to say this, but at times reading it felt like Kevin Hearne has a checklist of events he wants to cross off. Too much of the story feels rushed, especially when it comes to writing Atticus' POV. In this book, Hearne is more interested in Owen than Atticus, and this hampers the story. When did Owen become the bratty joker? It feels like Hearne switches the characters.

Too many emotional components are rushed or even skipped in order to spend time on new characters. Did I really need to read that much about Owen and a sloth? Nope. It's obvious Hearne plans to write about this new duo. Why add new characters into the mix when...bah, sorry, this is frustrating me.

This is one particular scene towards the book's end where a character's emotional reaction is completely ignored. I do believe Oberon would be highly upset over the said incident. (No, it does no involve meat.)

This notable series and especially Atticus deserves a better conclusion.

The tone of this book was so much different than the other books in this series. It sort of left me with the feeling that the author just wanted to be done with it.

felt very rushed finish to the series, but mostly beacuse it was a different style to all the prior books and less of a slow build up to a climax.
the ending was a massive letdown/ boring cliffhanger.
he should really bring out a few more of his medium length stories as sides to the series but based after this book

I’m heartbroken I’ve finished this series. Though I think it wrapped up quite nicely. All the characters headed to where they needed to be. I’m very sad I don’t have another to read. But HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the entire series, including this one to everyone in the universe.
