I might not have been impressed by this book as much as I would have otherwise because it was a required reading that we had to read in the summer before our 12th year of school for "AP English".
The story was aight, but the main thing I remember was the change in the sentence style/structure from the beginning of the book to the end of the book and how they grew, and developed and become more and more beautiful as the main character did.

A marvellous tale of a lost and incapable man. His betrayal and hurt, his fresh start and attempt to heal. It has lots of coastal scenery, seafaring culture, a strong community, sexual abuse, a wild party and even a missing house and a holy miracle!!.

Such a quiet, gentle story but with some harsh and heart wrenching content. Rich and likeable characters - with a couple of wrong uns to keep it interesting.

I’m thinking this story will stay in my heart for a long time.

I liked it enough to read it twice.
