Dang, I really loved this author’s writing style and dialogue. Audiobook narrator’s voice was incredible! Kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat the whole time. Some of the homophobia that the characters encounter and work through is hard to stomach but when is it not? Really good story overall.

Tears were shed, and I probably would have sobbed if my son wasn’t sleeping next to me. I was kept on my toes from start to finish, I laughed at some lines bc Buddy Lee was funny (and flawed and imperfect but loyal) and Ike was dangerous but resilient and composed.
I actually hate that what was done was done and they never really could apologize to their boys.
