I love this book, I was rereading it, but this time listening to the audiobook. It was such a new experience with Tanya reading it and deeply loved her narration. I just found myself not in the right head space/heart space to finish unfortunately.
This book is full of rich, lyrical imagery and the poetry and prose are woven together in a beautiful mosaic of intriguing storytelling that will stir every emotion as you read. There were some sections, though, where the imagery was so rich and opaque that it was difficult to know exactly what was happening. I'm not a poet, and I don't read a lot of poetry, so I found those sections challenging to read. But I enjoyed the challenging passages anyway; I would read them, pause, ponder, and read them again, letting my mind absorb the imagery and the prose in order to piece the story together.
And then I came to page 180. And I couldn't read it again. And I couldn't piece together exactly what happened. The final nine pages were confusion and pain, for the reader and (I imagine) the author. Who ends a book like that? God Almighty.

The best multimedia book i've read in a long time. Incredibly dense and rich of details, figures of speech and depth. If Inuit had a Divina Commedia, that would be Splitooth.

Not for me. Difficult to follow at times. There is a plot, but it feels disjointed. The writing is very good, just not the kind of storytelling I was searching for.
My favorite lines are aboutthe lemmings crawling into her hair, then the narrator dutifully bringing the lemmings back to where they came from. I liked picturing how the lemmings would feel tangled in my hair.
