omggg....i can't wow this book was so good.
SARAH DESSEN YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN.
Spoiler OK SO LOUNA IS IN THE WEDDING BUSINESS & ends up meeting this guy Ethan @ one of the weddings. They spend the entire night together and basically have this instant attraction towards each other. So they start dating but are long-distance. But then one day there's a school shooting at Ethan's school and he was one of the victims :(( HOW FREAKIN SAD IS THAT.
so now she doesn't really believe that true love can last and what not but she meets another guy named Ambrose at another wedding, and she finds him super annoying. He ends up working temporarily for her mom's wedding company with her and she realizes he isn't too bad. and then realizes she likes him. But they do this bet where Ambrose has to stay committed to a girl for 7 weeks and Louna has to date as many people as she can in 7 weeks. BUT THEN, AT ANOTHER WEDDING, when Ambrose goes up to Louna and wants to start confessing his love, he first talks about how he talked to Jilly (Louna's best friend) about his feelings towards Louna and Jilly told him all about Ethan. Louna flips out and leaves before Ambrose says he loves her, and she ends up dating this rando named Ben.
Then on Louna's 22nd....or 21st..or 20th idk birthday, Ambrose drops off a cake at the house (but leaves before seeing Louna) and then Ben comes over and is talking about how he was late because there was an accident with a dog running into the street and the guy who ran after it got hit. SO she freaks out and thinks it's Ambrose & Ira and starts running towards the scene. AND LEGIT- I THOUGHT AMBROSE HAD DIED TOO BECAUSE WHAT ARE THE CHANCES. but she runs into the scene and sees the body and a sheet over it and starts crying but then gets licked by a dog- WHICH IS IRA. and looks up and sees Ambrose. AND SO THEY KISS AND IT'S ALL HAPPY AND I'M JUST SOBBING IN MY BED AT 3 AM.

Desperately needed a light and easy read to get me out of the book slump I’ve been in for a long time. I think the key for me was contemporary novels, and this definitely did the trick! I loved the wedding planning aspect of the book, but I find that Sarah Dessen always has something cool of that sort in all of her books. I loved the Easter eggs of Wes’s sculptures showing up and the few other characters lol. I love when the Easter eggs show up in her books as I really look forward to that. The story itself was really adorable as well. Ambrose was so annoying in the beginning but underneath all the annoyingness and his player persona, he was such a good person and caring and had such a relaxed way of looking at life. I loved Ira and how Ambrose stole him lol. I did not know that this book dealt with a school shooting event as what happened with Ethan, but I’m glad I didn’t know going in to the book so that I was surprised when I read that. I enjoyed her chapters with Ethan and finding out how everything happened. I was waiting to see when the shooting happens and even though I anticipated it in the chapter it happened, I still had chills reading about it, but Dessen did a good job of not detailing the event itself and only the impact on Louna. Speaking of, I love the name Louna and basically all the names that Dessen ever picks out, some of them are so quirky but I absolutely love them anyway lol. Also, this book makes me want to re-read the other Sarah Dessen novels but I think I’m going to skip out on that idea and start another book while I’m out of this book slump lol.

This was not what I was looking for. I had wanted a super happy book about weddings.

This novel was tragic, sweet, fun, and filled with hope all at once.

Basically, the reader soon learns that Louna (the main character) fell in love with this guy. He died tragically and ever since she has been guarded. Then she has to work with this guy Ambrose and they make a bet.

The flashbacks about Ethan and what happened to him were heartbreaking. Yet, somehow this novel was satisfying. And while I will never read this again (too upsetting) it will certainly remain in my heart. I highly recommend.

This was another super sweet rom-com from Sarah Dessen. Louna is still heartbroken over the tragic ending of her first love/relationship. It doesn’t help that she works for her wedding planner mother who has also disillusioned herself with the idea of happily ever after. When Ambrose joins Natalie Barrett weddings for the summer, Louna discovers that maybe she can open her heart up again

Heartbreaking and fun. Odd mix of emotions.

3.5 stars on this one. It starts off really slow and wasn't holding my attention for about the first 10 or 11 chapters. It finally picked up and the rest of the story was good. There was definitely a sadness to parts though it had a sweet ending. I guess I just wish there had been more with Ambrose at the end. The whole story leads up to what happens with him and Louna and, while it was happy, I would have liked more.

I see that several people have left crappy reviews. I didn't think this story was that bad to warrant the low ratings, but I suppose it is subjective. I've only read one other book by this author, and it was good. Maybe the author has set the bar high based on her other novels. I dunno. I liked it overall, though, and I will definitely read more of her stuff.
