This was a fast moving whodunit and I managed to read it in one sitting. It's not a long book by any means but packs a punch in it's mere 179 pages. It was a compelling story, with believable characters and credible events, it left me wanting more. I felt I'd come to know these fractured people, some sympathetic, some despicable. I wondered, what would I do, in a similar situation. I emphatically believe that I would have called 911, then again with so many distractions and so much to lose, maybe I too would panic.

And that's the point, we think we know who we are, including our neighbors; but do we really? And aren't we all, to some extent, co-dependent on the people in our lives. Really, we don't know what we'd do until it's presented to us, especially when we're young. The ending blew me away as I did not see that coming...that says a lot coming from me. Is the plot a little out there? YES! But in the most magnificent way possible. If you're going to break the plausibility barrier this is the way to do it!

Thank you NetGalley, Carissa Ann Lynch, HarperCollins UK and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an impartial review; all opinions are my own.

This book is told from multiple points in time which gets a little confusing at times but once it's wrapped up you see why they were necessary.

It took awhile to hold my interest but I was invested and needed to know who/what/why! I enjoyed the book overall. Rounded up to 3 stars

Thanks Netgalley for a copy of this ARC. Earlier this year I stumbled across a previous book by this author and I was instantly hooked on her engaging writing style that draws you in and keeps the pages turning. I am a huge fan of books that jump right in and keep the thrills going and I can promise you that she absolutely does. As we alternate between past and present with different character POV, I wondered who they all were and how it would all come together as it flowed seamlessly along. It was a thrill of a ride and I read it within hours of receiving it. Grab this book and make sure that you grab all her previous books as well, this is one suspense writer you do not want to miss.

The book starts off with Ivy waking up to a one night stand in the bed beside her...one that won't wake up because he isn't among the living anymore. But who is he? And why can't she remember anything from the night before? Rather than calling the cops, for reasons we don't know yet, she sets off to figure out what really happened. But is it her past threatening her or is it her present. Maybe it's a combo of both. What you will find out you won't guess until the very twisty and shocking ending.

Easy light read, pretty unbelievable but it whiles away the time in lockdown

The One Night Stand is yet another fantastic and twisty thriller from the incredible Carissa Ann Lynch. As with her previous three novels, I could not put this book down. The story is fast-paced and full of incredible plot twists! Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen something shocked the bejesus out of me. Every. Damn. Time. And if you think you have figured out the ending don’t be so sure. I highly enjoyed this book and it makes me sad that I’ve read everything Carissa has written already. Can’t wait for her next one.

It was an enjoyable book but I was just hoping for a more sinister ending.

3.5 stars. Buckle up and suspend your disbelief for this wild, totally bonkers ride! When Ivy wakes up with a dead stranger in her bed and no memory of how she got there, she panics. From there it's a very twisty tale, more focused on how Ivy got into this position rather than what she does next. The flashback portions alternate between the months and weeks before the present day and 1993, and the story in 1993 is especially wild.
Teenage girls get mad at their friends over boys all the time! Believing that they're willing to plan a murder over it is pretty extraordinary. The plan to blame the uncle was kind of brilliant, but wouldn't the time of death evaluation show he couldn't have done it? But not so unbelievable they didn't investigate so closely, I guess.
Ultimately this is probably a forgettable thriller, but it's hugely entertaining, and lots of fun.
