Wow!!
That was so hilarious!! Barbara Robinson is a genius at funny and everyone should read this book every year at Halloween! It's a great read aloud for younger folks and a breath of fresh air for older folks.
Read it ;)!

A Halloween tradition! I finished reading this to my kids tonight after trick-or-treating.

The last Herdman book. *sob* Now my kid is pissed at me because there aren’t more more more.

I read this without re-reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever first...definitely a mistake. I felt like it was confusing and the narration was hard to follow (I didn't realize the main character was a girl until I was about half-way through the book). I figured if I was confused and uninterested, my students will feel the same way. I'll put this out with my Halloween display, but I wouldn't say it's the best Halloween book out there.

This book really hits the nail on the head: candy IS the best part of Halloween, I don’t care how old you are.

Decent listen with the kids; not too long. We've listened to the Christmas one in this series, so we kind of knew the Herdmans would make it a great Halloween by the end of it.
