This book was good till 3/4 of the book ( maybe 4 star good) but the last quarter of the book was too dumb for that rating.I did enjoy the 1st quarter of the book till the capital city. The middle half of the book was ok and then it plummeted. The later parts of the book left me wondering if anyone used their brains including the author. I get after reading 4 books that the author enjoys misery and likes to create cliffhangers abruptly without much preparations but this book had preparations for it but it portrayed the characters very dumbly and it killed of character just for character growth of other people without any real reason or rhyme.
The last part infuriates me enough that i want to rate this book 2 stars but the 1st half and other books in my 3 star category makes me rate this 3 stars as well.

This has been the best book so far. It’s been the most enjoyable. I really enjoyed how Vhalla has to come to herself as a woman and how much stronger she has been with her power. I will say, she pissed me off so much in the beginning. Her decision making was incredibly lacking and I kept turning off my kindle bc of how frustrated I was. I almost stopped reading because of how angry I was 😩🤣. But overall I enjoyed the pacing of it, the ending was somehow both shocking but also expected at the same time. It was very obvious what was happening towards the end but some of it was still surprising. Overall really enjoyable.
I love this series and I have been reading it slowly to savor it because I consume the books start to finish once I start them! However with changing my access to Kindle Unlimited I had hoped to finish up this quintet.
Then I got a concussion and my screen time is very limited so while I have just started the fifth and final book I am in great suspense to finish it. This was lovely as always, full of adventure, high stakes and great sacrifices. Highly recommend.
