Really haven't read much speculative fiction, but these were enough to get me more than hooked on the genre - and no, they didn't turn me away from Christianity.

I don't think I can give this a number rating simply because I don't think I retained enough details. A good book that I wish I enjoyed more because I like what it's doing. Audiobook is fantastic once again.

Was a bit distracted but does feel like a filler book. Want to know the character deeper.

This is such a good sequel, very different to the first book but it works. I love Will and how different he is to Lyra and how that affects them. Plot is so good and by God is this book sad.

"Seems to me the place you fight cruelty is were you find it and the place you give help is where you see it needed."

Brilliant plot and lovable characters. An interesting exploration of apathy and cruelty though their personification as spectres.
