There is a lot of good stuff in here - I was highlighting and bookmarking like crazy until about page 180. This book came to me at just the right time as well and has helped me to put a difficult personal situation into perspective. Towards the end, it sort of lost its flow and that's why I took off a star. I am very glad I read it though and will likely read another by this author.

Cannot stand someone who regurgitates another book. It feels incredibly cultish to me and like I’m being pulled into a pyramid scheme.

it wasn't some big mind shift for me. I wrote down some cool quotes to remember. other than that, meh. I'll try another of hers for posterity but don't have the hugest hopes.

Gabrielle Bernstein shares her journey from fear to love with us. There were moments in the book where I found her a bit too shallow, but I think it may be due to a generational difference between us. I am glad I stuck with it though because she does have a lot of wisdom to share about the basics of ACIM. She includes helpful meditations and has inspired me to keep on journaling every day as a tool to communicate with "ing".
It was my first book by her and I will be sure to check her other ones out as well.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. I love Gabrielle Bernstein's enthusiasm, but I struggled with some of the concepts she was teaching. I think it feels a little overwhelming to completely surrender to inner guidance and away from ego. I'm made some great progress here in the last 10 years, but it can be a little frustrating to here: "Here's how you do it!" as if it were just that simple. Though, as with any spiritual journey, it really is simple--just not easy. And she does detail her struggles getting there as well, with lots of great ideas on how to get there. I just found the tone SLIGHTLY off putting in terms of the "Just do it/can do" attitude. At any rate, good read with lots of great tips.

My understanding of ACIM got deeper thanks to this book. She put the teachings in language and examples that I can relate too. Thanks, Gabby!

It's a very sweet book but it doesn't really add anything to the genre.
