What an incredible end to a great series! This one kept me on my toes the entire time, there were so many twists and turns.

What I most enjoyed about this final addition to the series is that it felt a lot more "grown up" than the previous two- Pip was in a much different headspace and that gave a more mature vibe to the whole thing. Thoroughly enjoyed it (as much as one can in a murder mystery).

This book was a very "full-circle moment" for Pip and everyone involved. I found myself being heartbroken for Pip again and again throughout the book. She is very obviously struggling with PTSD and trying to find ways to cope, distract, and function as she is losing herself in all the trauma. Out of all the books, I fell in love with Ravi more in this one because he could see just how much she was in pain and was her anchor whether or not he was present. I know not many people enjoyed the outcome of Pip's choices when it came to Jason and Max, but I think it was very fitting what had happened. We saw her in the previous book starting to spiral and face the darker parts of herself, and with everything Pip found out in this book, I think it was a huge epiphany that things had been set in motion before the Andie Bell case. There was always darkness lingering and festering in her town before things came to light and Pip acted with that resentment, pain, and betrayal overpowering everything she knew. Humans are not saints and doing what is the "right thing" may not always be the easy choice which is what happened. I enjoyed peeling back layer by layer of this last installment and despite seeing Pip in such a challenging position and my heart breaking for Ravi in the end of the book, I'm glad there was a small, final ray of hope. My only complaint is that I wish I got to see Ravi and Pip truly be happy and find their way to each other again after the trial. I'm so sad to say goodbye to this series and will always love the crafting of each character and storyline.

I could barely put this series down, and this book was no different. The way the PTSD and trauma of the characters was explored was raw, emotional, and realistic. Despite the heavy and morally grey themes, the author had a way of making the reader understand every side to the story, and you keep rooting for the main characters until the very last page. The ending was emotional but realistic for the characters we’ve gotten to know over the last three books. I will miss these characters, but the author wrapped up all the loose ends of the series in a way that made the closure feel final and satisfying. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

This was such a ride, but also so tough to read. I feel like it was harder to read at the start because Pip had ✨trauma✨. I definitely expected the twist in the middle, but tbh I didn’t expect how the rest of the book would go. I can see how it got there from Pip’s interactions with the ****** reflecting on it, but still a surprise. I was not expecting how the second half turned out and am still unsure about how I feel about the end. Still, really enjoyed the series as a whole.

Reread rating: 5

After reading a lot more YA mystery books over the last 2 years, I've come to appreciate the A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series more. The way Holly Jackson weaved the whole story and everything came full circle was just amazing. I will never shut up about how good her writing (and this series is). I hope if they decide to continue the AGGGTM TV series, they will do all the books justice, especially As Good As Dead.

I love how the series gets darker and darker. I love how we got to see how Pip spiraled. I love looking at how it led her to this point, understanding the reasons why this needed to be how it ended.
