I’m a big fan of Ashley James but this one wasn’t my fav. If you’re going for a nice gentle low angst read it’s definitely good. Just felt like not much happened. There was build up to drama and excitement but not much came.

It was just very nice. Very gentle.

You can always count me in for a story where the main characters are talking online without knowing who the other person really is. Even though this one played out from one side, I had a great time reading it.

Hollis and Ford are total opposites in all the best ways. Ford, the grumpy and emotionally guarded firefighter, ends up matching with bold, bubbly Hollis on a dating app. Their match leads them into each other's DMs pretty quickly, and the chemistry between them comes through loud and clear.

There were some really steamy moments, but I found myself wishing for a little more emotional depth between them. A couple of slower, more vulnerable conversations would have added something extra to their connection for me.

The ranch setting came to life, as it always does with this author. I loved seeing familiar faces again, especially Finn, and the cozy group dinners were some of my favorite scenes. They had a warm, family feel that made me want to pull up a chair at the table.

Overall, this was a fun, low-angst, high-heat cowboy romance with a great setup and a strong sense of place. If that’s your kind of comfort read, you’ll probably have a great time with it too.

Ever since this series started, I knew Hollis was going to be my favorite Moore Man, and I wasn't wrong! Plus, I really loved the couple's dynamic in this book, I loved everything Ashley James did with Hollis & Ford: how it all began between them and the beautiful moments that show their love for each other. Plus, I loved reading about the supporting characters in this book.

Hollis has a charming personality that I fell in love with since the previous book. I love that he's an incorrigible flirt, that he goes after what he wants, and that he never misses an opportunity to mess with Ford. I also loved reading him talk about his past, his love for the ranch, and how much all the hard work he does every day means to him. Plus, reading him relying on Finn and August for important moments melted my heart in a special way.

Ford was a character I didn't expect to connect so much with. His personal story was unexpectedly painful, and I think that's why I loved reading him always having Remy's support. I also loved the way the author addressed his divorce and everything that went into it. And of course, reading him constantly struggling to stay away from Holli was one of the things I enjoyed most about this character.

Hollis & Ford meet not so anonymously on a dating app and I really liked that the author gave me all that chemistry and a great connection through their messages, also the tension that Ashley gave these characters just with those small exchanges was one of the things I liked the most about this book. BUT when things happen in real life everything is even more interesting because Hollis shows a completely different side that I really enjoyed discovering: I LOVED reading him having the sweetest gestures when Ford needed him, remembering the things that are important to him and sharing his guilty pleasures. Finally, I think the conflict that the author gave to the story of these characters towards the end of the book was VERY good to know how they really feel about each other, and to confirm how important Hollis is in Ford & Remy's lives.

I wanted to love this so bad. I really liked the beginning when they were talking online. After everything came out, I felt there wasn’t much talking, and it was mostly about the physical relationship. The spice, though… was hot 🔥
