i felt like the first one had better movement, a classic quest story with tons of references. this one felt a bit slower, a bit forced. not as good as the first, i did appreciate the lord of the rings scenes. also wade and Samantha it felt weird , like the author didn't know what to do with them. would not reread.

Act 1 was utterly atrocious.
It made me wanna stop so many times…
Once the Plot starts it at least becomes more coherent but the damage was already done and it still was not particularly good.
Some of the Quests took upwards of 4 Chapters and i really got sick of some of them after this long.
Act 3 and especially the Finale and Ending were the best part of the book and could have saved it, if the damage wasn‘t already done…
David Nathan did a phenomenal job as the Narrator and made me get through the bad parts of the book.

If they would let me award a book zero stars, this would be the one to earn that distinction.

I thought Ready Player One was so good I knew it’d be a nearly impossible task to follow it up. And I think Cline did an admirable job, but the sequel was just barely better than average in my opinion. Still a decent read but nothing incredible.
